How to Assign a Contact Owner and Event Contact to a Prospect

Overview

This article covers the basic steps for assigning a contact owner and event contact to a prospect in the attendee table.

Steps to Complete

Use the following steps to assign a contact owner and event contact:

1. Scroll right on the attendee table to find the columns titled “Contact Owner” and “Event Contact”.

2. Click the dropdown arrow in the column and row associated with the prospect you want to assign a contact owner.

3. Click on the Sales Team Member you would like to assign.

4. The Sales Team Member will become the Contact Owner and Event Contact.

Note: The Sales Team Member will become the Contact Owner in Salesforce.
Note: You can change the Event Contact to another Sales Team Member up until the time a meeting is set. This will not override the Contact Owner in Salesforce.
Note: If you would like to change the Contact Owner in SummitSync, you must make that change in Salesforce. The change will be reflected in SummitSync the next day.

5. You can also select multiple prospects at once to assign a Contact Owner and Event Contact. Click on the box to the left of each prospect’s name you would like to assign.

6. The number of total prospects selected will be shown at the bottom left corner of the screen.

7. Click the dropdown arrow under “Assign Contact Owner” to select a Sales Team Member.

8. Click “Assign Prospects”.

9. The Sales Team Member will become the Contact Owner and Event Contact for all of the prospects you selected.

10. The status of each prospect will now show as “Assigned”.

11. You will also see a notification at the bottom right corner of the screen stating that the number of prospects you selected have been assigned to that Sales Team Member.
