Dreamforce is one of the largest events of the year and the potential for deal-making is palpable. While Dreamforce is more upbeat than your average trade show—musical headliners include Bruno Mars and U2—chances are you’ll still want a drink to sip on after a busy day of trailblazing.
Dreamforce is held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco’s Soma neighborhood (south of Market Street). Known as a “haven for arts and sophistication,” the Soma neighborhood is packed with great restaurants, bars, and entertainment options—perfect for your team to host an amazing event that will leave guests excited to work with your company.
SummitSync has compiled a list of 10 locations of bars, restaurants, and private spaces all conveniently located near the Moscone Center. Dreamforce 2019 is only two months away, so take a look and get booking!
1. 83 Proof
83 Proof is a bar in between Market and Mission streets, located just half a mile from the Moscone Center, or a 12-minute walk. Known for its killer whiskey, 83 Proof is a cozy place perfect for kicking back with some colleagues, and potential clients, after a long day at Dreamforce. The bar also has options for private events, and you can reserve the Mezzanine or the full bar. However, be sure to note that 83 Proof does not serve food, so the venue would be best for hosting a short happy hour after the show.
Located in “the heart of Soma,” Bloodhound is 0.8 miles from the Moscone Center, a 7-minute drive or 18-minute walk. With blackbirds painted on the ceiling and antlers adorning the walls, this rustic bar is complete with a pool table and master cocktail artists, so your potential clients are sure to have a good time. Like 83 Proof, Bloodhound does not serve food, so this location is best suited for a short happy hour following the show.
3. The House of Shields
Open since 1908, the House of Shields is one of San Francisco’s oldest bars. It is conveniently located one quick trip around the block from Dreamforce, and should only take you around 7–8 minutes to walk there. Offering customers a “quintessential San Francisco bar experience,” The House of Shields welcomes private events in their Mezzanine, which caters to 30–50 people. Better yet, Chef and owner Dennis Leary will curate the perfect food menu to go along with their classic cocktails.
Mourad is a no brainer—clients won’t be able to say no to free food and booze when it’s located directly across the street from Dreamforce. Mourad offers three different spaces for hosting private events. The Mezzanine can host up to 40 guests, the Boardroom up to 20, and the Alcove up to 12. If you’re holding a presentation for guests, the Mezzanine offers full A/V capabilities.
5. Local Edition
Home to live music and great cocktails, Local Edition is just 0.3 miles, or a 7-minute walk, from the Moscone Center. Located in the basement of the historic Hearst Building, Local Edition has three different options for private events. If you’re hosting a large event with over 200 people, you can reserve the space for a standing reception. Alternatively, you can host a luncheon or dinner for up to 80 people, or a semi-private space for up to 50.

Located right next to Mourad, Trou Normand is also a 5-minute walk away from the Moscone Center. The restaurant has two beautiful spaces available for private events—the covered and heated patio that can accommodate 100+ for a standing reception, or The Butcher’s Room, which can seat 12 for dinner or 20 for a standing reception.
7. The View
Aptly named “The View,” this venue has a very large window with a breathtaking view of the city. Located just a quick walk across the Yerba Buena Gardens, The View is 0.3 miles away from the Moscone Center. With classic cocktails and a circular bar, this venue is sure to take your clients’ breath away.
8. The Marlowe
